Getting Ready for the Oscars

The 2012 Oscars will start as always with a fashion show. As celebrities hit the red carpet wearing fabulous fashion pieces from the world’s top designers, paparazzi and fans watch in anticipation of who looks great and who just doesn’t live up to the name of high fashion this year. The Oscars award show then begins after the star-studded audience has arrived.

On December 1, 2011 the official screen credits nominees are due. For anyone who wants to nominate a movie or actor, this is an important date to remember. After this, the nominations ballots are due on December 27, 2011. On January 13, 2012, the actual nominations are concluded with the closing of the polls at five P.M. Pacific time in the US.

The next day, all of the nominations are announced at the same time that the polls closed the day before. The nominations will be announced for the 2012 Oscars at the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre.

The Polls

The nominations for an Oscars are very important to those who have been nominated, their fans, and the world of movies in general. On February 11, 2012, the Scientific and Technical Awards are presented to winners. On February 21, 2012, the final polls close at five p.m. Pacific time and the winners are chosen.
